Bobby Scott Lewis, 72 of Morehead, passed away Thursday evening at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington after a brief illness. He was born in Bath County, Kentucky on February 7, 1946 to the late James and Goldie Adams Lewis.

Bobby was a retired construction worker and was a veteran of the United States Army,  having served during the Vietnam era.  As a child he had attended the Slate Valley Christian Church.  He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, Nascar and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors includes his wife, Sue Gillock Lewis of Morehead. Two daughters; Carol Highley and her husband Mike of Owingsville and Sherry Lewis of Owingsville. Two step-daughters, Jennifer Blair Anderson and her husband Joe of Morehead and Lisa Banks of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. One step-son, Don Blair and his wife Tara of Mt. Sterling.

Five grandchildren; Jordan Highley, Morgan Highley, Logan Highley, Duston Morton and Cody Morton. Six step-grandchildren; Madison Delk, Ryan Anderson, Haley Banks, Emma Banks, Harper Anderson and Sofie Blair. One great-grandchild, Cayson Morton and one step-great-grandchild, Zion Delk. Also, his devoted canine companion Sam.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Dr. Sean Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Machpelah Cemetery in Mt. Sterling. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by Montgomery Post No. 22 of the American Legion.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Pall bearers will be Duston Morton, Cody Morton, Jordan Highley, Don Blair, Ryan Anderson, and Joe Anderson. Honorary pall bearer will be Larry Breeze.

The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is caring for all arrangements for Bobby Scott Lewis.
