Jean Rogers

Mrs. Jean Dawson Rogers, 88, of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday morning April 9, 2019, at the Ridgeway Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 19, 1930, in Bath County, Kentucky to the late Irvin & Anna Lee Garner.

Jean was a member of the Slate Valley Christian Church. She worked many years as a cook at both Colonial & Hilltop Nursing Homes.  She liked going to work everyday and visiting with everyone.  When she wasn't cooking for someone, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Hoover Rogers who passed away May 29, 2016, one son, Sam Rogers, one brother, James Garner, and one son in law, George Kell.

Survivors include two sons, Jeff Rogers (Diane) of Winchester, Kentucky, and Bill Rogers ( Amanda) of Owensboro, Kentucky, two daughters, Carol Rogers Field (the late George Kell) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Trish Rogers (Michael Ouzounian) of Maple City, Michigan, eight grandchildren, Alex, Elizabeth, Sam, Walker, Scott, Paige, Nate, Emma, and six great grandchildren.  Survivors also include her special nieces & nephews, Wanda Jackson, John Rogers, Sheryl Leach, and her special sister in law Verna Rogers.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Saturday in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Bro. Greg Whitt Officiating.

Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery in Bethel.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be from 6 - 8 P.M. Friday.

Pallbearers include John Rogers, Travis Rogers, Scott Rogers, Alex Field, Sam Field, Walker Field, and Nate Rogers.

Honorary Pallbearers include J.R. Whitton, Omar D. Heath, and Jewett Blevins.

The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home is handling all the arrangements for Mrs. Rogers.
