Mable "Susie" Denton

Mrs. Mable Sue "Susie" Denton, 68 of Blevins Valley Road, Owingsville, passed away Sunday morning at the St. Joseph - Mount Sterling Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack.

She was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on January 12, 1951 to the late Robert and Rebecca Lynam Maze.

Susie attended the By-Pass Church of God in Salt Lick and enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was a member of the Preston Volunteer Fire Department and was awarded  Firefighter of the year in 2016.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Mary Goldie; four brothers, Allen Lynam, Billy Maze, David Maze, and Charles Allen Maze.

Survivors include her husband, Truman S. Denton, two sons, Bradley S. Denton and his wife Lisa of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky and Randy Denton and his wife Jessie of Blevins Valley; one daughter, Brittany Sue Denton and her fiancé David Parks of Blevins Valley; three brothers; Randall Earl Maze, Ricky Nelson Maze and Ronald Dale Maze and his wife Stephanie all of Salt Lick, Kentucky; three sisters Linda Lou Crouch and her husband Willis and Teresa Bashford and her husband Jeff all of Salt Lick and Peggy Faye Byrd of Frenchburg, Kentucky. Eight Grandchildren; Kaleb Denton, Aaron Denton, Karley Denton, Jordan Denton, Brooklynn Denton, Tyler, Bentley and Emma. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who will miss her.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. David Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Maze-Lynam Cemetery at Bethel. Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is after 6:00 p.m. Monday.

Pall bearers will be John Barry Staton, Justin Welch, Kaleb Denton, Aaron Denton, Derek Ellington, Hop Robinson, James "Porky" McNabb and Bryan Donahue. Honorary pall bearers will be Ricky Maze, Jordan Denton, Rabbit Maze, Ronnie Maze, Jeff Bashford, Josh Donahue, Jeff Adkins, David Caldwell, Jr.

The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is caring for all arrangements for Mrs. Mable Sue "Susie" Denton.
