Naomi Denton

Owingsville

Mrs. Naomi Louise Turner Denton, 91, of Owingsville, passed away Sunday morning, August 18, 2019 at Owingsville Manor.

She was born on June 20, 1928 in Fleming County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Leslie Holman Turner and Arzetta Noplis Moody Turner.

Mrs. Denton was a former employee of Colonial Nursing Home and she had also provided personal home care.

She was a member of the Salt Lick First Church of God and had attended the Owingsville Baptist Church, in her later years.

She enjoyed quilting, doing word search, reading, going to church and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Glen Denton, whom she married on May 19, 1946 and who passed away on August 26, 1996, Five brothers, Willis Turner, Orville Turner, Lowell Turner, Kenneth Turner and Tommy Turner. Also, two sisters, Virginia Hendrix and Audrey Johnson.

Survivors include her nine children, Phyllis Ann Conyers, Donald Ray (Sandra) Denton, Maira Sue Helphinstine, Katha Louise (Rickey) Lewis, Janet Faye (Robert) Howard, Willis (Stephanie) Denton, Vickey Lynn (Greg) Stegner,  Loyce (Chris) Bailey and Joyce Denton. Sixteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 22, 2019 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Vernon Lambert, Rev. Lowell Rice and Rev. Chris Bailey officiating.

Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery at Bethel.

Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Willis Denton, Donnie Denton, Glen Conyers, Ernie Conyers, Kevin Howard and Eric Lewis.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren.

Contributions are suggested to the Salt Lick First Church of God, Owingsville Baptist Church, Owingsville First Church of God or Johnson First Church of God.
