Mr. Robert "Bob" Hunt, 77, of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky after a brief illness.
He was born on April 15, 1942 in Bath County, Kentucky to the late Reuben & Dorothy Blevins Hunt.
Bob devoted his life to his family, faith and community. He was a member of the Slate Valley Christian Church and was an avid farmer & cattle trader who loved hunting & playing golf. He worked as an Assembler for Rockwell International for 25 years and was the union officer of the United Auto Workers union #1537. He served his community in many ways such as; he was a member of the Bath Masonic Lodge # 55 serving as Master of the Lodge in 2004, El Hasa Shriners, former Jaycee, Assistant Grand Tiler & District Deputy of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Kentucky. He also served twelve years on the school board for the Bath County School system. Because of his outstanding service to his state and community Bob received the Kentucky Colonel award due to his noteworthy accomplishments.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Ella Clark.
Survivors include his beloved wife Connie Phillips Hunt whom he wed June 11, 1966. One daughter Leslee Toy (Gary) of Mt. Sterling, two grandchildren, Chase Alexander Toy (Amber Dees) and Andrew Garrison Toy. Survivors also include his two brothers Charles "Bud" Hunt (Dottie) and John Kenneth Hunt (Marnie) both of Owingsville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday, August 1, 2019 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Bro. Greg Whitt Officiating.
Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be from 5 - 9 P.M. Wednesday, July 31, 2019.
Full Masonic Rights will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home by the Bath Masonic Lodge #55. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Pallbearers will include Bryson Price, Anthony Bailey, Phil Copher, John Estill Everman, Mike Gorrell, Stanley Porter, and Mickey Reffitt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hayden Price, Steve Ward, James Fraley, Buck Price, Larry Barber, Todd Eastam, Omar Heath and Roger Horseman.
In Lieu of Flowers contributions are suggested to the Shriner's Hospital for Children at 110 Conn Ter, Lexington KY 40508 or the St. Jude Children's Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
