Mr. Ward Allen Wells, 60, of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday Morning September 10, 2019 at his home after an extended illness.
He was born on July 24, 1959 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky to the late Edward Franklin and Monavene Spencer Wells.
Ward was the former owner and operator of Wells Carpet and Furniture in Mt. Sterling and current owner of Wells Rental Property. He was a 1977 graduate of Bath County High School and was known for his affectionate and warm personality. He very much enjoyed being a grandfather and spending time with his grandson Brady and his beloved family. Some of his hobbies were hunting, fishing, horse racing, boating and he was an avid sports fan. He also liked watching Gunsmoke and talking politics. He was of the Christian faith and loved everything life had to offer.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years and high school sweetheart, Vicky Rankin Wells, one son, Jason Allen Wells (Carie) of Owingsville, one grandson, Brady Allen Wells, three brothers, Dan Edward Wells, Gary Dale Wells both of Owingsville and Steven Wells (Cindy) of Frenchburg, two sisters, Debra Carrol Everman of Owingsville and Christy Damron (Tim) of Sharpsburg. Survivors also include his mother in law Minnie McCarty and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 13, 2019 at the Owingsville First Church of God with Rev. Lowell Rice, Rev. Russ Ingram and Rev. Roger Wells officiating.
Burial will follow in the Kendall Springs Cemetery in Owingsville.
Visitation at the Owingsville First Church of God will be after 6 P.M. Thursday.
Pallbearers will include Bev Brooks, Chandler Maze, John Ed Wells, Chad Hart, Dale Botts and Mike Botts.
Honorary Pallbearers include Steve Willoughby, Phillip Wells, Fred Shortridge, Jeff Thomas, Paul Copher, Ricky Wells, Evan Lyons, Bobby Ratliff, Rick Witt, Walter Bailey, Mike Conyers, Shawn Tolle, J.B. Snedegar, Mitch Miller and Tim Damron.
