Andrew Carl "Bubby" Shields, 75, of Bethel, Kentucky passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. Bubby was born on February 22, 1949, in Bath County, Kentucky to the late Carl and Dorothy Dailey Shields.
Bubby was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed coon and fox hunting, watching westerns and spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Juelda Shields, Katie Tincher and Nancy Thomas and his brothers, Freddie Shields and Billy Shields.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Karen Sue Burgess Shields, one son, Phillip Shields (Cindy) and one daughter, Melanie Crouch (Rob Kirby) both of Bethel, one sister, Peggy Shields of Olympia, Kentucky and one brother, Wayne Shields (Patty) of Bethel. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Ben Crouch, Brianna Shields (Travis Keeton) and Brooklyn Shields, one great grandchild, Mira Keeton along with several nieces and nephews and special friend, Donald Dailey who will miss him dearly.
The family would like to thank the Fresenius Kidney Care in Mt. Sterling, St. Claire Hospice and St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling, for their wonderful care. They are forever grateful and may God bless each and every one of you.
A graveside service will be conducted 1:30 PM Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the Longview Cemetery in Bethel with Pastor Kevin Miles officiating.
A visitation will be held at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
Pallbearers include, Ben Crouch, Rob Kirby, Travis Keeton, Brian Thomas, Jeremy Shields and Tyler Shields.
Honorary pallbearers include Donald Dailey, Darren Ovington, Chris Stewart, Brian Thomas II, Dustin Thomas and Cody House.
