Betty Lou Holbrook Jackson, 66, of Owingsville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at UK St. Claire Hospital. She was born on September 5, 1959, in Mt Sterling, Kentucky to the late Dewey Kel Holbrook and Nora Eva (Burton) Holbrook.
Betty Lou was known for her passions that brought joy to her life and those around her. She found great happiness in quilting, shopping, fishing, and cooking, activities that allowed her to express her creativity and care for her family in special ways.
Betty is survived by her two daughters, Amber Elaine Lees and her husband Brandon of Owingsville, and Liz Jackson of Frenchburg, Kentucky, two sons, Rodney Jackson II of Olympia, Kentucky, and Joe Chris Jackson and his wife Tina of Salt Lick, Kentucky. She was a sister to Wilbur Lee Holbrook and his wife Teresa of Salyersville, Kentucky; Lillian Maxine Prater and her husband Jackie of Salyersville; and Eva Denise Riddle and her husband Charles of Owingsville. Her grandchildren, Abigail Elaine Lees and Charles Dalton Lees, as well as special nephews Charles Chad Riddle and Patrick Riddle and her great-niece Elizabeth Denise Riddle and dear friend Gerry Highley all of Owingsville.
Betty Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Jackson Sr., her son Chris Jackson, three brothers, Robert Earl Holbrook, Scotty Wayne Holbrook, and Dewey Douglas Holbrook, as well as two sisters, Brenda Sue Ulery and Patricia Joyce Minix.
Her life will be honored with a visitation on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Michael R Gray Funeral Home, located at 89 Slate Ave, Owingsville, KY. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the same location with Rev. Lowell Rice officiating. Burial will take place at Owingsville Cemetery.
Pallbearers include, Kenneth Earl Holbrook, Anthony Wayne Holbrook, Henry Holbrook, Curtis Marshall, Kenneth Dewey Holbrook, Kelly Ulery, Bobby Wayne Ulery Jr, Rodney Earl Minix, Denny Kel Holbrook, Chad Riddle and Patrick Riddle.
