Betty Jo Scott Jones, 92, of Sharpsburg, Kentucky went to meet her LORD JESUS CHRIST on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Owingsville, Kentucky. She was born April 24, 1933 in Nicholas County, Kentucky to the late Clarence "Pete" Scott and Elizabeth Anderson Scott.
Betty Jo loved her LORD, her husband and her family, she loved deeply and lost dearly. She devoted several years of her life to her career at U.S. Shoe in Flemingsburg where her hard work and dedication left a lasting impression. She had a passion for shopping, always on the lookout for treasures at yard sales and Goodwill. She enjoyed sewing and most of all she treasured time spent with her family and friends. Her kindness and genuine spirit touched everyone she met. Betty Jo attended the Grace Gospel Tabernacle in Sharpsburg for many years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband William Alexander "Bill" Jones who passed away in 1997. Her son-in-law, Jeffrey "Bear" Otis and her beloved grandson, Jeffrey Lee Otis.
Survivors include one son, Billy Joe Jones and his wife Debbie of Winchester. Three daughters: Sandy Jones Davis and her husband Glenn of Richmond, Patty Jones Dickerson and her husband Mike of Salt Lick, and Glenda Jones Otis of Owingsville. One brother, Johnny Scott and his wife Carolyn of Carlisle. Two sisters, Carolyn Jones of Carlisle and Phyllis Rice and her husband Dennis of Lexington. eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, special friends and other relatives. She will be greatly missed.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all the nurses, aides and staff of Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation who provided her with compassion and care in her final days.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 16, 2025 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with her son-in-law Glenn Davis and Rev. Lowell Rice officiating.
Betty Jo will be laid to rest beside her husband William at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Sharpsburg, Kentucky.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is after 12 Noon - 2:00 PM Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Brian Jones, Shane Dickerson, serving on behalf of the late Jeffrey Otis is Taylor Gibbs, Blake Davis, Landon Dickerson, Matt Dickerson, Grant Davis and Nelson Coyle. The honorary pall bearer who will carry her last rose will be Alexander Lee Otis.
