Billie Paul Bailey, 89 of Owingsville, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.

He was born on May 11, 1931 in Bath County, Kentucky to the late Feland "Doc" Bailey and Roxie Barber Bailey.

Billie was a veteran of the United States Army having served  during the Korean Conflict. He was also a longtime Dairy Farmer. He was a devoted member of the Owingsville First Church of God and was best known for giving out candy to everyone.  Billie was also a founding member and instrumental in the building of the Preston First Church of God.  He was a loving husband and father who always told his family how much they all meant to him.  He enjoyed Nascar, playing guitar and singing gospel music. Along with his wife Emma Lea, they were members of a gospel music group called "Happy Tones". Billie also enjoyed spending time with his family.  Everyday at 5:00 P.M. they would meet at the house for "coffee time" and they would have dessert and coffee before it was time to go back to the barn to milk the cows.  Coffee time was very important to Billie and he made it a priority to be there everyday no matter what.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two siblings, Whaley "Bud" Bailey, Geraldine Bailey Jones and his nephew Billy Wayne Copher.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 66 years, Emma Lea Bailey, his son Tim Bailey and two daughters Robin Tolle (Shawn) and Rebecca Downs (Sam), one brother, Dave Bailey (Fern), four grandchildren, Katie Sproessig (Jonathon), Dalton Caudill (Amanda), Tristan Downs (McKenna), Karson Tolle all of Owingsville and a host of nieces and nephews. Survivors also include Rhonda Copher, Alison Copher and Tracy Copher all of whom including the late Billy Copher were like his own children. Other special family members include, Eulala Donahue, Alton Copher, Deweese Copher (Glenna) and Doug Copher (Linda).

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at the Owingsville First Church of God in Owingsville with Pastor Lowell Rice and Shawn Tolle officiating.

Burial will follow at the Owingsville Cemetery in Owingsville.

Visitation at the Owingsville First Church of God in Owingsville will start at Coffee Time (5 - 8 P.M.).

Pallbearers will be Alison Copher, Tristan Downs, Jonathan Church, Kevin Copher, Chad Copher and Ebony Copher.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Arlen McNabb, Larry Copher, Terry Bailey, Brent Bailey, Chris Bailey, Darren Bailey, Barry Bailey, Sam Copher and Manuel Vance.

In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to Tim's Toy Trot for Tots, 339 Donohue Road, Owingsville, Kentucky 40360 or the Owingsville First Church of God, 320 Slate Ave./P.O. Box 100 Owingsville, Kentucky, 40360.
