Bobby Gene Penick, 64, of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
He was born on June 30, 1959, in Mt. Sterling to the late Bill Penick and Sarah Shrout Penick.
Bobby had a warm heart and touched the lives of everyone he met. He had a deep love for nature and enjoyed spending his time fishing and hunting. In moments of quiet reflection, he would often be found whittling and reading his bible, finding solace in the peace it brought him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Penick and one sister, Barbara Williams.
Family meant the world to Bobby. He leaves behind his beloved wife Cheryl McClain Penick, his daughter, Shaunda Hagerman of Owingsville, one granddaughter McKayla Hagerman, brother Edward Penick (Sue) and sister Jenny Sammons (JR), both of Olympia, Kentucky. Bobby also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law who will all miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 14, 2023 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Jim Crouch officiating.
Burial will take place at Shrout Cemetery located at 961 Pickshein Rd, Owingsville, KY, 40360.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Tuesday.
Pallbearers include, Terry Cassidy, Brian Warner, Doug McClain, Jeff Emmons, Jacob Conyers, Clifford Landsaw and Elijah Wells.
Honorary pallbearers include, Rex Cassidy, Tim Penick, JR Sammons, Jeff Warner and Chuck McGuff.
