She enjoyed making jewelry, reading, and gardening, pursuits that spoke to her creativity, curiosity, and care.
Brenda "Scottie" Riddell Schulte, 79, of Owingsville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
She was born on December 29, 1946 to the late Walter Scott Riddell and Lucy Hart Riddell.
Brenda lived a life marked by learning, creativity, and deep devotion to those she loved. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Morehead State University and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Education, accomplishments that reflected her commitment to knowledge and growth.
She found joy in the simple and meaningful pleasures of life. She enjoyed making jewelry, reading, and gardening, pursuits that spoke to her creativity, curiosity, and care. Above all, she treasured spending time with family and friends, and those moments shared with her will remain a lasting source of comfort and gratitude to the people who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Schulte.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Schulte (Heath Reynolds) of Frankfort, Kentucky, and Jaymee Schulte (Heather) of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Monday, October 5, 2026 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville.
Burial will follow at the Owingsville Cemetery.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Monday.
