Burl Wesley "Wes" Everman, 67, of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication as a well-respected police officer. He was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. The son of Rossetti Gray Everman and the late Burl Everman. Throughout his career, Wes exemplified the virtues of integrity, bravery, and commitment to the community that he served. His unwavering dedication made a significant impact on the lives of many earning him the admiration and respect of his peers and the public alike. Wes also served as Chief of the Owingsville Fire Department for 11 years.
Wes cherished a rich life filled with passions that included an appreciation for history, Demolition Derbies, and a love for the University of Kentucky sports. He delighted in spending joyful moments at the beach and treasured the time spent with friends and family, always striving to create lasting memories filled with laughter and happiness.
He leaves behind his beloved companion, Carrie Ferrell Everman; his mother, Rossetti (Gray) Everman; one son, Trevor Everman; and three daughters, Brooklyn Everman, Olivia Everman and Leslie E. McCarty. Also mourning his passing is his brother, Greg Bussell, along with special friends, David Jackson and John Sutherland
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Bath County High School Auditorium located at 645 Chenault Dr, Owingsville, KY.
A funeral service will take place the following day, Thursday, November 14, 2024, beginning at 1:00 PM at Bath County High School with Bro. Johnny Botts officiating.
Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Owingsville Cemetery.
Contributions are suggested to The Supporting Heroes Inc. at 11400 Decimal Dr. Louisville, Kentucky 40299.
Pallbearers include David Jackson, Josh Miller, Chris Everman, Billy McCarty, Dave McCarty, Hunter Bussell and Matt McNabb.
Honorary pallbearers include Bath County Sheriff's Office, Owingsville Police Department and the Kentucky State Police.
The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is caring for all the arrangements for Wes Everman.
