Charles Henry Ball

Charles Henry Ball, 67, affectionately known as "Bull," passed away at his home in Owingsville on Tuesday, September 3, 2025. He was born on May 3, 1958, in Greenville, Tennessee to the late Carl Walton Ball and Edith Clarine Patterson Ball.

With a career as a truck driver, Charles spent many hours on the road, developing a respect for the journey and the people he met along the way. His funny sense of humor was a hallmark of his personality, brightening the days of family, friends, and even strangers with laughter and warmth.

In his free time, Charles found solace in his numerous hobbies and interests. He had a passion for demolition and working on cars, relishing the challenge and creativity involved in each project. Additionally, he embraced country living by raising goats, pigs, and chickens, which underscored his love for the land and its simple pleasures. Music was another significant aspect of his life; Charles enjoyed listening to bluegrass gospel music, which often resonated deeply with him and became a source of comfort.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his son, Charles "Chuck" Ball and two brothers, Robert Franklin Ball and Gene Ball.

Charles is survived by his wife, Saundra Sands Ball, one daughter, Davena Sands (Brian) of Limestone, Tennessee, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Charles is also survived by two brothers, Walter Ball of Erwin, Tennessee, and Kenny Ball (Angie) of Limestone, as well as three sisters—Sandy Rogers (Clay), and Debra Jones (Robert), both from Chucky, Tennessee, and Phyllis Burleson of Erwin, Tennessee.

A memorial service will be held 12 noon on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the City of Refuge Church at 39 Sour Springs Road Olympia, Kentucky 40358. 

Visitation at the Church will be from 11:00 AM - 12 noon Sunday.
