Charles Clay Leach

Charles "Charlie" Clay Leach, 69, of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. 

He was born in Sharpsburg, Kentucky on July 10, 1953 to the late Alfred Leach and Anna Kate Leach. 

Charlie was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War.  After his time in the Army he went on to serve in the National Guard and received a bronze star for his efforts.  He was a long haul truck driver for over 35 years.  Charlie never met a stranger and enjoyed fishing, boating, mowing the lawn and he adored his five fur babies, Abby, Bugle, Penny, Shaq and Shorty. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roger "Plums" Leach. 

Survivors include his beloved wife, Sheryl Garner Leach, one sister, Melissa McCarty (Billy) and his niece, Samantha McCarty all of North Middletown, Kentucky and several aunts and uncles. 

Services for Charlie will be private.
