Charles Henry Sweeney, 81, of Mount Sterling, Kentucky, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022 at his home.
He was born on November 24, 1940 in Sweeneyburg, West Virginia, a son of the late Edra George Sweeney and Mollie Stover Sweeney.
Charles was retired from Coca Cola, where he worked as a technician for 37 years.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mt. Sterling and he loved hunting, fishing, camping, the outdoors, gardening, country music, going on vacations and spending time with his dog, CoCo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Anthony Morgan, one daughter, Brenda Sweeney, one brother, Azel Neal Sweeney, one sister, Dorothy Brown and a granddaughter, April Martinez.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Kathleen Shrewsbery Sweeney, two sons, Charles Dwayne Sweeney (Sherry Dull) of Greenville, South Carolina and Gary Morgan (Alice) of Georgetown, South Carolina, one brother, Carl Edra Sweeney (Nora) of Mt. Sterling, one sister, Ruby Robinson of Gainesville, Georgia, brother-in-law, David Shrewsbery (Jeannie) of Abraham, West Virginia, grandson, Shawn Sweeney (Kayla) of Greenville, South Carolina and three great-grandchildren, Devlin Sweeney, Gabby Nelson and Raven Sweeney.
There will be no services or visitation at this time.
