Clyde Downey, 83, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at the Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation in Owingsville, Kentucky.
He was born on September 30, 1937 in Bath County to the late Roy Downey and Ethel Sorrell Downey.
Clyde was known to be a simple man who enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on the farm. He retired from Bundy Tubing Company in Winchester, Kentucky and then went on to retire from Pintair in Mt. Sterling.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers; Richard Downey, Virgil Downey, Taylor Downey and John Downey.
Survivors include his wife Lola Craycraft Downey, two sons; Doug Downey (Becky) of Knoxville, Tennessee and Larry Downey of Mt. Sterling, five grandchildren; Richard Downey (Jessica), Nathan Downey (Grace), Jacquie Downey, Jessica Blevins and Casey Highley, two great grandchildren; Jayda Puckett and Forrest Downey, five sisters; Gracie Rogers, Alice Norris (Bill), Margie Fields (Rick) all of Mt. Sterling, Faye Stone (Doug) and Christine Letcher and one brother, Charles Downey (Cathy) all of Owingsville.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, July 17, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Lowell Rice officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hedricks Cemetery in Salt Lick, Kentucky.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is from 6 - 8 PM Friday.
