Dean Garwood

Dean Garwood, 60, of Heflin, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the UK Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. 

Dean was a long-time over-the-road truck driver who took pride in his work and enjoyed the many miles and experiences that came with it.  Outside of work, he loved riding motorcycles and tinkering with off-road vehicles.  Dean was strong-willed, independent, and had a way of making people laugh.  He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  

Dean was preceded in death by his granddaughter Jolene Patricia Ruth Boston; his father, Robert Garwood; his stepfather, Ray Gines; brother, Neil Garwood and brother in law Steve Davis.  

He is survived by his son, Josh Boston; his mother, Noreen Garwood; his brother, Jim (Maryann) Garwood; his sisters, Kathy Davis and Candy Garwood; and the three girls (fur babies) he loved dearly, Josey, LuLu, and Molly. Survivors also include his nephew, Brent (Joann) Bentley; niece, Courtney (Logan) Hunter; great-nephews, Luke Bentley, Weston Hunter, and Colter Hunter; and great-niece, Makenzlie Bentley. 

Dean leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love.  His strong spirit and the love he had for his family will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.  He was loved deeply and will be missed more than words can say. 

A celebration of Dean's life will be announced at a later date.
