Delbert Anderson

July 7, 1939 — August 16, 2015

Mr. Delbert Floyd Anderson, 76, of Slate Avenue, Owingsville, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 in the Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Owingsville.

He was born on July 7, 1939 in Bath County, Kentucky, a son of the late John and Ora Reed Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was a retired truck driver for the Kentucky State Highway Department of Transportation.

He was also a former Bath County School Bus Driver, had driven a milk truck for Kentucky Cardinal and was a farmer.

Delbert attended Oakla First Church of God and he enjoyed watching Cincinnati Reds Baseball and University of Kentucky Basketball.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Reed Anderson, whom he married on June 14, 1969, two sons, Delbert Anderson, Jr. of Owingsville and Jason Anderson of Mt. Sterling, one daughter, Lisa (Eric) Collins of Lexington, one brother, Thomas (Jeanette) Anderson of Owingsville, one grandson, Hayden Collins and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Brother Jack Anderson and Brother Mike Hollan officiating.

Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.

Visitation is after 4:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Roger Coyle, George Purvis, Rob Hodge, Charles Tingle, Ken Conaster, Dennis Thomas, E. H. Snedegar and Tony Maze.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Dearmond, Harold Tuttle, Sharlet Fultz, Kevin Jaminson, Jeff Emmons, Bobby Curry and Danny Crouch.
