Della Smith

Della Smith, 90, of Owingsville, Kentucky, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. She was born on September 3, 1933, in Olympia, Kentucky to her late parents Henry Thompson and Lucy Ginter.

Della found joy and solace in simple pleasures, spending her days quilting, crocheting, canning, and tending to her garden. Her talent and passion for creating beautiful handcrafted items brought warmth to all those around her. She was a devout Jehovah Witness and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. 

In addition to her parents, she in preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wallace R. Smith, and two brothers, Jimmy and Walter Thompson. 

Della is survived by her four sons, Melvin (Brenda) Smith of Olympia, Kentucky, Jeffery Smith of Owingsville, Kentucky, Rodney (Carolyn) Smith and Daniel (Jackie) Smith, both of Lexington, Kentucky.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville.
