Dennis Ralph Carman

Dennis Ralph Carman passed quietly in his home on August 30, 2026. Dennis was born on March 22, 1948, the youngest son of Ralph and Mary Markwell Carman in Winchester, KY.

Dennis was bold and courageous, always willing to do what he felt called to do, yet often humble to admit when he was wrong. He lived a life of faith and service and was deeply committed to his family. Dennis moved to Bath County in his later years, where he founded WIMV 89.3 Christian Radio. He and his wife operated the station from May 2012 through February 2026, when the frequency was passed along to another Christian radio network.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.

He is survived by his faithful wife of 55 years, Janet Carman, his 10 children, and 27 grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters, several cousins, and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the Michael R Gray Funeral Home, 89 Slate Ave Owingsville, Kentucky from 5:00 - 8:00 PM and from 1:00 - 2:00 PM on Sunday at the Owingsville First Church of God 320 Slate Ave. Owingsville.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Owingsville First Church of God with Rev. Lowell Rice officiating. 

Burial will follow at Polksville, Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Perry Akin, Jonathan Carman, Ryan Hite, John Kesselring and Joseph Williams. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Wycliff Bible Translators; The Galilean Children's Home, Liberty, KY; Hope Pregnancy Care Center in Morehead, KY; or WIMV Christian Radio, in care of King of Kings Radio Network.
