Dorothy Pearl Hatton Dailey, 90, of Sharpsburg, Kentucky "went down the road" as she would say on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. She was born in Bath County on August 16, 1935, to the late James Richard Hatton and Alma Ellen Donahue Hatton.
Dorothy was a resident of Ridgeway Nursing and Rehab for six years but called Sharpsburg home for more than half her life. She was married to her late husband Sammie Dailey for 69 years. She had three sons, Tommy (Donna) Dailey of Nicholas County, Joe (Debbie) Dailey and Mike Dailey both of Montgomery County. Three grandsons, Tim (Richie) Dailey, Jason Dailey and Casey Dailey, two great grandchildren, Chase Dailey and Michael Dailey.
Dorothy lived in Moorefield, Kentucky as a young child, attended the Moorefield School and later was the self-proclaimed "Mrs. Moorefield " as residents loved her deeply as she was kind to everyone. Later in life Dorothy enjoyed getting into a good card game with sister-in-law Eveline Workman and friends and weekend yard sales were always attended. She was also an employee of Jockey International for almost 15 years and an avid gardener with a green thumb like no one else. She could break a 5-gallon bucket of Roma II's in no time and can all day. There was never a time you went into Her's and Sam's home and there wasn't something to eat on the stove.
Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, March 27, 2026, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Sharpsburg with Elder Wayne Manley officiating.
The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is caring for all the arrangements for Dorothy Dailey.
