Dorothy Dailey Shields, 91, of Sharpsburg, Kentucky, passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at the Saint Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling.
She was born on December 30, 1928 in Bath County, Kentucky, to the late John D. Dailey and Mollie D. Jackson Dailey.
Dorothy had worked at Cowden Manufacturing and then she worked at Ridgeway Nursing Home until she retired and where she later became a resident.
She enjoyed cooking, watching W.L.J.C, spending time with her beloved family and she loved her sweet K-9 companion, Blackie.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Estill Shields, one son, Freddie Irvin Shields, three daughters, Katie Lou Tincher, Juelda Rae Shields and Nancy Thomas, two brothers, Omar C. Dailey and Sammie Dailey and two sisters, Ruby Gibson and Louise Dailey.
Survivors include her three sons, Andrew ("Bubby") Shields, Wayne Allen Shields and Billy Shields all of Bethel, one daughter, Peggy Shields of Olympia, two sisters, Mary Fox of Indiana and Eveline Workman of Sharpsburg, nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services and burial will be conducted Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the Longview Cemetery in Bethel.
Pallbearers will include; Jeremy Shields, Tyler Shields, Phillip Shields, Brian Thomas, Brian Thomas II, Dustin Thomas, Cody House and Ben Crouch.
