Eddie Garland

Edward “Eddie” Garland, 58 of Preston Road, Owingsville, Kentucky passed away suddenly, Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the St. Joseph-Mt. Sterling Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.

He was born January 1, 1967, in Bath County, Kentucky to the late Hubert and Georgia Fair Garland.

Eddie was an employee of the Bath County Road Department. He also was a logger, junk collector and could work on all types of vehicles. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a true outdoors man. Eddie had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren as well as all his family and friends.

Eddie will be remembered most for his words of wisdom, whether you knew you needed them or not and his bright smile and laughter. He loved to joke, and he had such a fun personality. He will be deeply missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica Garland, two sisters, Mary Alison Garland and Ita Mae Garland, one brother, Willie Garland, two granddaughters, Brooklyn Roland and Eloise Southers, one grandson, Jessie Southers and one nephew, David Garland.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Tammy Robinson Garland, his children: Felicia (Stephen) Southers, Johnathan Garland, Tracy (Lance) Overbee, Jessica (Ray) Link, Jennifer (Wes) Hart, Joseph Robinson, David (Megan) Ingram and Kevin McVey. Grandchildren: Shelly, Thomas, Mercedes, Kelsie, Levi, Nathaniel, Haley, Brittney, Kipton, Breanna, Stephen, Larry, Adrianna, Douglas, Mattie, Jaxon, Saundra, Alyssa, Heavenley, Crue, Chloe, Isabella and Natilie. Great grandchildren: Tucker, Adalynn and Piper. Brothers: Wiley Garland, and Hubert Garland, Jr., Sisters: Brenda Marksberry, Thelma Gail Garland, Helen Bailey and Elizabeth (Red) Garland. Also, several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, August 1, 2025, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Pastor Ulysses Walton officiating.

Burial will follow in the McClain Cemetery on Mill Creek Road.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is after 6:00 P.M. Thursday.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Robinson, David Ingram, Jr., Westley Hart, Lance Overbee, Ray Link, Josh Miller, Oscar Robinson and Eddie Robinson. Honorary pallbearer will be Johnathan Garland.
