Emma Copher

February 8, 1940 — March 17, 2016

Mrs. Emma Lou Kazee Copher, 76, of Owingsville, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

She was born on February 8, 1940 in Ashland, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Donald Gaylord Kazee and Sophia Dixon Kazee.

Mrs. Copher was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Owingsville Ward.  She enjoyed flowers, genealogy, reading scriptures daily, spending time with her family and attending the family reunions.  Mrs. Copher always kept candy and was known as the candy lady at her church and she also had a great love for her dog and best friend, Ginger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Joe Kazee, one sister, Janet Hutchinson and one brother-in-law, Bob Watson.

Survivors include her husband, Don Copher, four brothers, Wayne (Mary Jean) Kazee of Cincinnati, Ohio, Larry (Alta) Kazee of Ashland, Phillip (Cathy) Kazee of The Villages, Florida and Jackie (Theresa) Kazee of Catlettsburg, three sisters, Carol Watson of The Villages, Florida and Pearl (Gary) Keeton and Cheri Kazee both of Ashland, brother-in-law, David Hutchinson of Ashland, very special caregiver, Barbara Stevenson of Owingsville and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services under the direction of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints Owingsville Ward.

Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Doug Copher, Jerel Jones, Don Stevenson, Rick Pemberton, Joseph Hovermale and Danny Ginter.

The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is caring for all arrangements.
