Mrs. Emma Louise McGlothin Thompson, 72, of Slate Avenue, Owingsville, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

She was born on February 28, 1943 in the Ore Mines community of Bath County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Earl and Mae Ginter McGlothin.

Mrs. Thompson was retired from Blue Grass Industries in Mt. Sterling.

She was a member of the Sugar Grove Christian Church and she enjoyed Facebook and making crafts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Thompson, who passed away on January 4, 2008 and one brother, George McGlothin.

Survivors include her son, James (Sonya) Thompson of Owingsville, her daughter, Ramona (Gene) Meadows of Owingsville, one brother, Everett (Sarrah) McGlothin of Mt. Sterling, three grandchildren, Valarie (Blaine) Ostrom, Andrew Thompson and Jessica Dominix, four great-grandchildren, Courtney Ostrom, Kelsey Ostrom, Gibson Shrout and Sophia Dominix and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 2, 2015 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Brother Francis Nash officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oldfield Cemetery.

Visitation is after 6 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
