Floyd Hatton

November 22, 1926 — January 14, 2016

Mr. Floyd C. “Rabbit” Hatton, 89, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the St. Joseph - Mt. Sterling Hospital.

He was born in Bath County, Kentucky on November 22, 1926, a son of the late Arthur and Katie Donathon Hatton.

Floyd was a farmer and a retiree of Whirlpool Corporation and Kroger in Mt. Sterling.

He was a member of the Church of God and he enjoyed fishing, playing checkers, knife trading, playing rook and cats.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Shrout Hatton, three brothers, William Hatton, Virgil “Jake” Hatton and Louis Hatton and one sister, Mayme Thompson.

Survivors include one son, Claude Estill (Naomi) Hatton of Mt. Sterling, two daughters, Donna Jean (Phillip) Hammack of Owingsville and Diana Lynn (Larry) Compton of Winchester, two brothers, Russell Hatton of Mt. Sterling and Stanley Hatton of Salt Lick, three sisters, Opal Blankenship, Nellie Goodpaster and Oleta Robinson all of Owingsville,  five grandchildren, Phillip (Tammy) Hammack Jr., Stephanie Dawn Whitt, Joseph Ryan (Stacey) Hammack, Justin Ray Compton and Christie (Don) Tackett, six great-grandchildren, Daniel Clay Hammack, Ciara Ann Williams, Nicholas Williams, Ava Brook Hammack, Tyler Riddle and Kayla Riddle, two great-great-grandchildren, Kynlee Craver and Brantley Craver and his canine companion, Tiny.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Billy Harmon officiating.

Burial will follow in the Machpelah Cemetery at Mt. Sterling.

Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
