Gene Rogers Ingram, 91, of Owingsville, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, at his home. He was born on November 18, 1934, in Bath County, Kentucky, to the late, Jesse James Ingram and Minnie Alice Carmichael Ingram. Gene led a life marked by dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to his family and values.
Gene’s career was rooted in the traditions of hardworking Kentuckians, with years devoted to truck driving and farming. His dedication extended beyond his professional life; he was also a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving his country with honor. Among his proudest accomplishments was his membership as a Master Mason for 70 years, a testament to his steadfast principles.
A man of many interests, Gene found joy in fishing, singing and playing guitar, golfing, hunting, and traveling. These pursuits enriched his life and provided him ample opportunity to bond with family and friends over shared experiences and simple pleasures.
Gene is survived by his devoted wife, Carolyn Sue Ford Ingram, with whom he shared an extraordinary 71 years of marriage. Together, they raised four children: two sons Ricky Ingram and his wife Margaret of Mt. Sterling, and Robert Ingram and his wife Levonda of Morehead; daughters Regenna Ingram of Owingsville, and Reva Stacy and her husband Anthony of Ashland. He was also a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren—Megan Jones (Derek), Dillon Ingram (Shay), Bridget Dasch, Rachel Vance (Neil), Jared Bosten, Jacob Bosten, Robbie Ingram, and Kathylee Cameron (Justin)—and a great-grandfather to eighteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his infant son, Roger Carol Ingram, as well as eight brothers: Herbert, Bill, Sam, Jesse Jr., Leslie Coleman, Jack, Clyde, and Marvin Dove; and five sisters: Anna Carter, Lucy Carter Dryer, Mary Spencer, Charlotte Carter, and Nora Carter. Their memories were cherished and he carried their love with him always.
