Gladys Sparks

August 5, 1924 — December 27, 2016

Mrs. Gladys Roberson Sparks, 92 of Owingsville, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning at her home.

She was born in Bath County, Kentucky on August 5, 1924 to the late Walter and Pearl McCarty Roberson.

Mrs. Sparks was a member of the Tunnel Hill First Church of God.

She enjoyed singing at church, spending time with her family, traveling, gardening, working in her flowers, cooking, and collecting dolls.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ancil Hood Sparks, three granddaughters, Sharon Gail Tuttle, Teresa Boyd, Cynthia Gose, one brother, Sylvester (Sonny) Roberson, four sisters: Mary Montgomery, Dolly Goodpaster Burton, Gertrude Lynch, and Effie Lou Craig.

Survivors include eight children, Inez Faye Everman and husband Omer D. of Menifee County, Charles Edward Sparks and wife Maggie (Margaret) of Owingsville, Minnie Louise Tuttle and husband Harold of Owingsville, James Cleveland Sparks of Salt Lick, Clark Dale Sparks and wife Nancy of Owingsville, Roger Lee Sparks and wife Karen of Owingsville, Clifton Ray Sparks and wife Judy of Salt Lick, and Joy Ann Warren and husband Robin of Owingsville. She is also survived by twenty nine grandchildren, sixty five great-grandchildren, thirty five great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandson. Also one brother, Cleopas Roberson and wife Sandra of Owingsville. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 30, 2016 at  the Owingsville First Church of God with Pastor Sherman Sparks and Brother Jimmie Everman officiating.

Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be after 5:00 P.M. on Thursday December 29, 2016.

Serving as pallbearers will Mrs. Sparks Grandsons.
