James Allen "Jake" Knowles, 68 of Olympia, passed away Thursday at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center after an illness of several weeks.
He was born in Black Rock, Indiana on December 27, 1950 to the late Raymond Lewis Knowles and Genevieve Cronkite Knowles.
Jake was a retired self employed plumber and enjoyed hunting, reading, golfing, woodworking, fishing, loafing, storytelling and joke telling. He enjoyed time with his family and friends especially his grandson. He was of the church of God faith.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Debbie Highley Knowles.
Survivors include two daughters Misty Knowles Bashford and her husband Shaun of Owingsville and Angie Garcia of Edgewater, Florida. His grandson Jake Taylor Bashford.
Two brothers, Richard Sexton of Attica, Indiana and Dennis Knowles of Indiana. Three sisters: Doris Hurt of West Lebanon, Indiana, Sandra Shonkwiler of Attica, Indiana and Jenny Kay Knowles of Lafayette, Indiana. Also his mother-in-law, Emma Craig Highley of Owingsville. Also several other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be conducted 7:00 pm Saturday, December 7, 2019 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Lowell Rice officiating.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home is after 5:00 pm Saturday December 7, 2019.
