James William Skaggs, known to many as Jimmy, passed away on October 29, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Hospital.
He was born on September 26, 1955, in Washington Court House, Ohio to the late, Lonnie and Wanda Lee Rigsby Skaggs.
Jimmy was a true jack of all trades, always ready to take on any project. He had a reputation for being a skilled negotiator and haggler. Whether it was a DIY home renovation or fixing up derby cars, Jimmy could handle it all.
Outside of work, Jimmy had a love for the outdoors. Fishing and hunting were among his favorite pastimes, allowing him to reconnect with nature and find solace in its tranquility.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jacky Skaggs and three sisters, Linda Schultz, Brenda Skaggs, and Phyllis Skaggs.
Jimmy is survived by three sons, James "Jamie" Skaggs Jr. of Frenchburg, Kentucky, Dustin Bussell (Pearl) of West Virginia, and Bradley Skaggs of Salt Lick, Kentucky, three grandchildren, Delilah, Damian, and Makayla Bussell, four brothers: Robert Skaggs (Kathy) of Jeffersonville, Charles Skaggs of Mt. Sterling, George Skaggs of Bethel, Kentucky, and Russell Skaggs (Donna) of Salt Lick. Two sisters Patty Johnson of Owingsville and Debbie Driver of Alabama, along with his niece Rachel Lash of Mt. Sterling and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation for Jimmy will be held at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM Saturday, November 4, 2023.
