JC Moore, 86, of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, Kentucky surrounded by his family.
He was born in Sandy Hook, Kentucky on May 20, 1936, to the late Granville Moore and Annie Terry Moore.
A man who never met a stranger, JC was a steadfast friend who was kind, compassionate and always helpful. He was a man who let his faith shine by playing gospel music for crowds all around. When he wasn't camping with the family he loved to fish, work in the garden and making furniture. He was employed by Hobart Inc. for 22 years and later worked for the Bath County Road Department. JC was a member of both Tunnell Hill Church of God and City of Refuge Church in Olympia, Kentucky and belonged to the Gospel Hymn Singing Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty-six years, Lena B. Moore, one daughter, Gloria Moore, two brothers; Bennie and Schallis Moore and one great great grandson, Jayce McCarty.
Survivors include three sons; Larry Moore of Bethel, Kentucky, Gary Moore and Terry Moore both of Owingsville, two daughters; Teresa Bailey (Anthony) of Owingsville and Connie Stidham of Ironton, Ohio, three brothers; Mark Moore, Bernard Moore (Tammy) and Russell Moore (Ruth) all of Sandy Hook, three sisters; Eula Turvey of Ironton, Mary Ann Porter (Jack) of Sandy Hook and Lou Eplin (Mike) of Raceland, Kentucky, eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, June 18, 2022 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Mike Munday officiating.
Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral in Owingsville is from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday.
Pallbearers include; Mitchell Smith, Johnny Royce, Terry Sands, Blake Stephens, Austin McCarty and Brian Walker.
Honorary Pallbearers include; Rylan Ramon and Jacob Moore.
