Josephine Martin Patton

Josephine "Josie" Patton, 77, of Bethel, Kentucky, passed away Friday, January 2, 2026, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling from complications from a housefire. She was born in Montgomery County on June 27, 1948, to the late John Ellis Martin and Della May Willoughby Martin.

A true homemaker at heart, Josie dedicated her life to her family, where she found joy in sewing, crocheting, cooking, and tending to her flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Shawn David Patton.

Survivors include her children: Stanley Patton of Owingsville, Jennifer Stephens (Rusty) of Mt. Sterling, Woodie Patton, and Robbie Patton, both of Owingsville. Her legacy continues through her thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her life.

She also leaves behind her siblings: five brothers, Woodie Martin of Stanton, Lester Martin, Irvin Martin, and Rockie Martin, all from Owingsville and Finley Martin of Pennsylvania; and two sisters, Pamela Martin Patton of Owingsville and Patsy Ann Martin of Winchester.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Michael R Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville. 

Funeral services will follow at the same location, beginning at 2:00 PM with Bro. Roy Stacy officiating. 

Burial will follow at the Martin Cemetery in Jeffersonville.

Pallbearers include, Michael Elliott, Lucas Martin, Ty Taylor, Allen Richardson, Scottie Sapp and Branson Martin. 

Honorary pallbearers include, Stanley Patton, Jennifer Stephens, Woody Patton, Robbie Patton and Tyus Patton.
