Joyce Blevins

Joyce Hunt Blevins, 82, of Owingsville, passed away Monday, May 4, 2020 at Baptist Health in Lexington.

She was born on August 31, 1937 in Bath County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Taulbee and Clemmie Ulery Hunt.

Mrs. Blevins retired after working for 37 years at Bath County Drug Store, where she was the Manager and Pharmacy Assistant.  She was also the co-owner of J & J Antiques from 1977 to 2010.

Joyce was a member of the first Bath County Ambulance Board, where she had served as secretary and she had been a faithful member of Slate Valley Christian Church, since 1959.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, antiquing, babysitting, cooking, sporting events and family outings.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Richie Hunt and one sister, Wanda Jean Crouch.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Jewett L. Blevins, whom she married on January 9, 1954, two daughters, Sheila Ann Blevins and Karen Lynn Blevins, two brothers, Harold Wayne Hunt (Patty) and Gary Hunt (Christina) and sister-in-law, Anna Ruth Hunt all of Owingsville.  She is also survived by several very special nieces and nephews who meant the world to her.

Private family services will be Thursday, May 7, 2020 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Gregg Whitt and Rev. Lowell Rice officiating.

Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Clark Kissick, Taborn Kissick, Hunter Kissick, Patrick Toy, Wyatt Means, Brian Hunt, Barney Crouch, Barry Blevins and Huntley Bach.

Joyce wished to recognize the following individuals by listing them as honorary pallbearers: Charlie Kissick, Barry Toy, Steven Bach, Kenny Williams, Mike Harmon, Todd Blevins, Zach Crouch, Chase Roussos, Braden Roussos and Preston Roussos.
