Justine Sorrell

Justine Sorrell, 95, of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Monday May 26, 2025, at Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on February 18, 1930, in Bath County to the late John S. Whitton and Mabel Atchinson Whitton.

Justine had a distinguished career as a secretary at The Insurance Center, working alongside her roles at the Owingsville Meat Packing Plant, Richardson's IGA and Bailey's Ford Garage. Her exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail made her a valued employee, and she was respected by her colleagues for her dedication and work ethic.

A proud member of Grace Gospel Tabernacle, Justine found joy in her faith and community involvement. In her leisure time, she enjoyed collecting ceramics, fishing, and cherishing moments spent with her family, all of which brought her immense happiness and fulfillment.

Justine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Orville J. Sorrell; her son, Terry Logan Sorrell; and her sister, Ida Belle Rogers.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jean Ann Richards Sorrell; her grandson, Morgan Jay Sorrell, and his wife, Ciarra; three great-grandchildren, Emery Claire Dodge, Aspyn Ray Sorrell, Saige Fraylyn Sorrell and very special friend Joy Mcilvain; as well as several nieces and nephews who will dearly miss her presence.

Visitation for Justine will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Michael R Gray Funeral Home, located at 89 Slate Ave, Owingsville, KY 40360. 

Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 30, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM, with Bro. Gary Henderson officiating, followed by burial at Owingsville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Morgan Jay Sorrell, Pud Beadle, Nathan Estes, Eddie Mcilvain, Shawn Richards and Tyler Riddell. 

Honorary pallbearers include Eddie Griffin, Ronnie Beadle, Jimmy Kissick, Paul Conyers, Andy Conyers, Charlie Kissick and Paul Sexton.
