Larry Thomas Dyer

Larry Thomas Dyer, 76, of Owingsville, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington.

He was born on August 22,1950 in Clark County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late William Franklin Dyer and Armina (Martin) Dyer Bailey.

Larry was a retired painter. He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether he was fishing, hunting, practicing archery, playing cards, or enjoying a good game of bowling. While these hobbies brought him happiness, nothing compared to the love and pride he held for his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making cherished memories and sharing moments that will forever be treasured by those who loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant sister, three brothers, Dillard Dyer, Frank Dyer and Donnie Dyer.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Edith Steele Dyer, two daughters, Angie Dyer Snedegar (Robert Earl) of Owingsville and Karen Earlywine (Roy) of Mt. Olivet, five grandchildren, Daniel Sheffield (Stephanie), Taylor McDonald (Andy), Brooke Stewart (Ty), MaKenzie Snedegar and Drew Snedegar, 6 great-grandchildren, Ian, Lacey, and Blaiden Sheffield, Luke and Macy Jo McDonald, and Sutton Stewart. Survivors also include his sister Marie Dyer Little (Arl), sister in law Shirley Dyer, cousins, Mike Wilson, Johnny Clem (Joann) and Jamie "Ollie" Walters and friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, November 1, 2026 at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is after 2:00 PM Sunday.
