Larry Gene Fryman, 79, passed away at his home in Sharpsburg, Kentucky on Monday, September 4, 2023, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on October 19, 1943, in Paris, Kentucky. A son of the late Mark Fryman Jr. and Viola Crump Fryman. Larry led a remarkable life filled with love, dedication, and accomplishment.
Larry's career was one of his greatest sources of pride. For over 29 years, he owned and operated Larry's Brake and Front End Center. His commitment to providing excellent service to his customers made him a pillar of the community. Larry's expertise in automotive repair earned him a well-deserved reputation for professionalism and integrity.
Outside of work Larry had several hobbies and interests that brought him joy. Fishing was always at the top of his list; he found solace by the water, casting lines and reeling in memorable catches. Larry also had a passion for traveling; he and his wife Peggy enjoyed exploring new places near and far. Gardening was another hobby that allowed him to connect with nature.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy, and Mark Fryman, and one granddaughter, Kaitlyn "Katie" Fryman.
Survivors include his beloved wife Peggy Bailey Fryman of whom he married May 8, 1964, two sons, Larry Dwayne Fryman (Angela) of Midland, Kentucky and Barry Fryman (Kim) of Owingsville, Kentucky, one brother, Greg Fryman of Paris, two sister, Linda Johnson (Bobby) of Paris, and Diane Sanford (Phil) of Huntington, West Virgina, three grandchildren, Ethan Fryman (Danae) of Owingsville, Brandon Fryman (Lindsey) of Louisville, Kentucky, and Bryce Fryman (Katie) of Morehead, Kentucky, and one great grandchild Rory Paul Fryman.
Visitation services will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the Michael R Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville, Kentucky from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at the same location at 1:00 PM. A private family graveside service will take place a the Crown Hill Cemetery in Sharpsburg.
Pallbearers include, Ethan, Brandon and Bryce Fryman, Danny and Morgan Conyers, Travis Bailey and Kevin Centers.
Contributions are suggested to St. Claire Hospice and the Grace Gospel Church in Sharpsburg, Kentucky.
