Lena Elizabeth Ginter Hawkins, 90, of Bethel, Kentucky passed away Friday, February 3, 2023, at her home surrounded by her beloved family.
She was born in Bath County, Kentucky on March 14, 1932 to the late Tom Brown Ginter and Betty Hatton Ginter.
Lena was a member of the Bethel Methodist Church. She retired from the US Shoe Factory in Flemingsburg, Kentucky where she worked for over 30 years. Lena enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved dog Fluffy, crocheting and dancing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George "Funny" Hawkins, her son, Robert "Bobby" Brown Hawkins, one brother, Tommy Ginter, one sister, Doris York, her grandson, Eric Brown Hawkins and her granddaughter, Jessica Hawkins.
Survivors include her daughter, Theresa Warren of Lexington, Kentucky, two brothers, David Ray Ginter of Maine and Jerry Ginter of Lexington, five grandchildren, Bryan Miller (Tawnya), Melonie LeRoy (Tim), James "Jim" Hawkins, Robert Brown Hawkins II (Kristen), Joseph Hawkins (Emily) and several great and great great grandchildren and her special sister-in-law, Peggy Hawkins.
Funeral services will be conducted 12 noon Saturday, February 11, 2023 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Lowell Rice officiating.
Burial will follow at the Longview Cemetery in Bethel.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be from 11:00 AM - 12:00 noon Saturday.
Pallbearers include, Palmer LeRoy, Daimler Miller, Bryan Miller, Presley Miller, Robert Hawkins, Joseph Hawkins, Tim LeRoy and Cole Layton.
Contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association of Kentucky.
