Leon Carpenter, Sr., 74, of Owingsville, passed away Friday morning, April 23, 2021 at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
He was born on May 30, 1946 in Lexington, Kentucky, a son of the late Albert and Fannie Combs Carpenter.
Mr. Carpenter was a farmer and he enjoyed fishing and doing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include three sons, Donnie Carpenter (Tasha), Leon Carpenter, Jr. and Larry Wayne Carpenter (Samantha King) all of Owingsville, two daughters, Minnie Carpenter (Jeff Blake) of Morehead and Mary Caudill (Matt) of Winchester, three brothers, James Carpenter, Ronnie Carpenter and Joe Carpenter all of Owingsville, two sisters, Judy Briley (Johnny) of Owingsville and Mildred Buckler (B. B.) of Paris, fifteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the Old Virginia Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Fannin officiating.
There is no visitation.
Pallbearers will be his family.
The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is caring for all arrangements.
