Lindsey Harold Hunt, 82, of Olympia, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
He was born on June 23, 1943 in Hazard, Kentucky, a son of the late Lindsey Harrison Hunt and Ollie Downs Hunt.
Harold was retired from doing road construction, having worked for several different companies and also logging. He helped with the construction of Interstate 64, the Cave Run Lake Dam and Kentucky Highway 801, just to name a few.
He loved fishing and hunting and he taught all of his boys how to fish and hunt. What gave Harold the most joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Christopher Hunt, five brothers, Joseph Hunt, Clay Hunt, Buddy Bruce Hunt, Manley Ray Hunt and Perry Wayne Hunt and two sisters, Hazel Blanton and Louise Hensley.
Survivors include his wife of over 60 years, Judy Highley Hunt, whom he married on December 27, 1964, five sons, Lindsey Harold Hunt, Jr. of Olympia, Anthony David Hunt of Morehead, Kentucky, Michael Shane Hunt of New York, Brian Douglas Hunt of Menifee County, Kentucky and Earl Mays of Olympia, one brother, John Paul Hunt of Louisville, Kentucky, two sisters, his twin sister, Linda Hatton of Owingsville, Kentucky and Margaret Ingram of Menifee County, ten grandchildren, Adam Hunt, Justin Hunt, Jarrod Hunt, Hayden Hunt, Jacob Hunt, Zack Hunt, Nathan Hunt, Adrian Hunt, Ethan Hunt and Amanda Hunt, twenty great-grandchildren, special friends Charles David Crouch and Brad and Lisa Crouch and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 26, 2025 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Pastor Justin Perkins officiating.
Burial will follow in the Highley Family Cemetery in Menifee County.
Visitation is after 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Adam Hunt, Jarrod Hunt, Adrian Hunt, Tim Hunt, Nathan Hunt and Ethan Hunt.
