Mae Helen Gose, 84, of Owingsville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling. She was born on January 20, 1941, in Marion, Indiana, to the late Jesse Sorrel and Mary Jane (Purvis) Jordan.
Mae worked as a seamstress at Jockey International in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky and poured her heart into every stitch she made for 25 years.
She adored crocheting and had a passion for collecting dolls. Mae's love for children knew no bounds, and she had a soft spot for purses, shoes and Elvis.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Gose, two sisters Elsie Lois Jarell and Francis White Pendleton, one niece Mary Mac, and Bruce Brown whom she raised.
Mae leaves behind two sisters, Frita White and Faye Stiddom; nieces Patty and Becky; nephews Jeffery and Brian; numerous great nieces and nephews; as well as Wayne Brown, whom she raised with deep love.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 13, 2024 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Lowell Rice officiating.
Burial will follow in the Purvis Cemetery off of Old Sand Road in Bath County.
The visitation to honor Mae's life will be anytime after 6:00 PM, Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the Michael R Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville.
Pallbearers include Mitchell Manley, Michael Manley, Matthew Manley, Brian McCarty, and other friends and family.
Mae Helen Gose's spirit will forever remain alive in the hearts of those who were privileged to know her gentle soul. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she shared so generously during her time with us.
