Owingsville

Margaret Virginia Harman, 77, of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky on Thursday, November 13, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born in Bath County, Kentucky on February 10, 1948. The daughter of the late Raymond Purvis and Lillian Corey Purvis. She embraced every moment of her life with grace and warmth, leaving behind a legacy of love that will be felt by all who knew her.

Margaret devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the East Fork Church of God and the Bethel Homemakers. She dedicated her life to taking care of her family and being actively involved in her four grandchildren’s lives, never missing a life event of theirs and she will always be noted as their biggest fan. She took great joy in her newest role of great grandmother, babysitting her great grandson, following behind him step by step, treasuring each day she got to spend with him. Margaret found pure happiness in the simplest of pleasures - She loved being outdoors and spending time with her family at her little get away, “Her Cabin” down on the family farm. She enjoyed cooking and was known for the best chocolate pie around. She loved deeply and had a gracious, forgiving heart, she will be known for always doing for others and putting everyone before herself.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Bascom, Harry and Raymond Purvis, Jr., as well as one sister, Barbara Wilson and a special nephew James Little.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 57 years, Wilson Harman; her daughters, Prette Smith (Donnie) and Jennifer Coyle (Andy); four grandchildren Joshua Mitchell, Heather Goldie (Daniel), Andrew Coyle and Matthew Coyle and one great grandson Waylon Goldie all of Owingsville; a special niece Patricia Hubbard (Greg) of Mount Olivet; one brother-in-law Dave Harman (Polly) of Flemingsburg; three sisters-in-law Hazel Purvis of Mt. Sterling, Betty Lou Harman of Sharpsburg and Phyllis House of Columbia, South Carolina and several nieces and nephews, whom she was lovingly known as Aunt Margie to.
