Mary Linda Warner Copher, 78, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She was born on October 23, 1947, in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, to the late James A. "Hick" Warner and Margaret Stone. Mary Linda lived a life marked by committed service, community leadership, and deep love for her family.

Mary Linda devoted much of her professional life as a loan officer with the USDA Rural Development, retiring after 28 years of diligent work. Beyond her career, she was a pillar of her community and engaged in numerous civic and social organizations. She held the esteemed positions of president of the Kiwanis Club and chairman of the Site-Based Council. She also served as an executive committee member of the Doves of Gateway in Morehead, Kentucky. Her leadership extended to the athletic field, where she was both president and treasurer of the Bath County Little League and an active member of the Bath County Basketball Boosters Club. An avid fan of University of Kentucky and Bath County sports, Mary Linda’s enthusiasm inspired those around her.

Her dedication to public service was further exemplified through her time with the Bath County Ambulance Service, from which she also retired. A proud graduate of the Bath County class of 1965, Mary Linda was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, daughter, and friend. Her vibrant spirit and generous heart enriched the lives of many.

Mary Linda is survived by her two beloved sons: Bobby Lee Hart (Kim) of Dayton, Ohio, and James Roger "Rogie" Copher of Owingsville, Kentucky. She also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren: Jessica Vickers and her husband Trey, Natalie Hart, Sylvie Joann Copher, and Shepard James Copher, along with two precious great-grandchildren, Eva Rae Vickers and Elowyn Ann Vickers and several nephews. Their love and memories will continue to honor her legacy.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dudley Thomas Warner and Bobby James Warner, and her sister, Cathy Ann King.

Family, friends, and all who knew Mary Linda are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Owingsville First Church of God, located at 320 Slate Avenue, Owingsville, Kentucky. The funeral service will follow immediately at 4:00 p.m. at the same location with Rev. Lowell Rice and Pastor Johnny Baber officiating. Burial will take place on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Owingsville Cemetery at 129 Cemetery Street, Owingsville.

Pallbearers include, Jerald Howard, Michael and Ryan Smith, John Willoughby, Matt Fields and Johnny Botts.

Honorary pallbearers include, Tony Lisee, Jeff Morrett, Patrick Armitage, Mark "Tubba" Coyle, Jace Winkleman, Mike Kinder and Larry Hickerson. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Owingsville First Church of God property annex. 

The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is caring for all the arrangements for Mary Linda Copher.
