Mary Alice Richmond Bowles

Mary Alice Richmond Bowles, 76, of Sharpsburg, Kentucky passed away Monday, April 3, 2023 at St. Joseph Hospital in Mount Sterling, Kentucky.

She was born September 20, 1946 in Pike County, Ohio to the late Arthur Ott Richmond and Gustava Lawson Richmond.

Mary was a former employee of Jockey International in Carlisle and she enjoyed farming, gardening, spending time with her family and friends, watching game shows and westerns on TV, working in her puzzle books and playing solitaire. She was a member of the Northside Church of God in Owingsville, Kentucky. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Bowles, her siblings, Louise Richmond, Frances Shepherd, Hattie Townsend, Gracie Lucas, Junior Richmond, and Debbie Richmond. 

Survivors include her children, Jeff (Donna) Bowles of Bethel, Kentucky, Helen Bowles of Mt. Sterling and Michelle Lynn Trussell (Brad). Two brothers, Freddie Richmond of Cynthiana, Kentucky and Ricky Richmond (Anita) of Sharpsburg, Seven sisters, Shirley Donathan, Coffine (Kenny) Evans, Phyllis (James) Jordan, Opal Richmond, Tina (Dale) Ginter, Annie Richmond all of Owingsville, and Kathy (Jayson) Evans of Carlisle, Kentucky. Her grandchildren, Jan (Shane) Fuller, Jeffery Bowles (Cameron Eads), Kennedy Bowles, Devon (Bree), Tailer (Blaine), Gavin, and Rylee. One great grandchild, Hannah Fuller. Two special friends, Joann Martin and Barb Tolliver. Several nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 5, 2023 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Pastor Kenny Crouch officiating.

Burial to follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Sharpsburg.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the funeral home.

Casket bearers will be Harry Hunt, Ralph Hunt, R.J. Donathan, Shane Fuller, Ricky Richmond, and Rusty Richmond.

Honorary casket bearers will be Jimmy Price, Kennedy Bowles, Hannah Fuller, and Pastor Jim Crouch.
