Melissa Marie Snedegar

Melissa Marie Snedegar, 39, of Somerset, Kentucky and formerly of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, April 7, 2026, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born in Morehead on February 19, 1987.  The daughter of Sherry Snedegar Lawhorn and the late Ted Snedegar.  She was known for her warm and welcoming nature, Melissa was a special needs individual who never met a stranger and was always friendly, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.

Melissa found joy in dressing up nice, interacting with people, and listening to music. Her vibrant spirit and genuine kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is lovingly remembered by her maternal grandmother, Goldie Little; her mother, Sherry Snedegar Lawhorn; one brother, Teddy Snedegar (Catherine Stevens); and two sisters, Amy Snedegar (Roman Patrick), all residing in Morehead, as well as Aranda Arnett (Andrew), of West Liberty, Kentucky. Melissa also leaves behind a host of cherished nieces and nephews who brought her great happiness.

Melissa was preceded in death by her father, Ted Snedegar, and two beloved nieces, Nova Taylor and Kaida Patrick.

A visitation to honor Melissa’s life will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Michael R Gray Funeral Home, located at 89 Slate Avenue, Owingsville, Kentucky. Following the visitation, her funeral service will commence at 1:00 p.m. at the same location with Pastor Nicholas Barker officiating.

Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Sharpsburg, Kentucky.

Pallbearers include Teddy Snedegar, Andrew Arnett, Roman Patrick and Billy Little.
