Nancy Halcomb, 77, of Cornettsville, Kentucky, peacefully passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at her home. She was born on September 29, 1945, in Bath County, Kentucky to the late Sherman Buckler and Virtna Davis Buckler.
Nancy brought joy and warmth into the lives of all who knew her. She will always be remembered for her caring nature and the love she shared with her family and friends.
Throughout her life, Nancy found fulfillment in simple pleasures. She enjoyed reading her bible, finding solace and inspiration within its pages. Her passion for cooking and baking extended beyond mere culinary pursuits; Nancy's green thumb manifested in her beautiful garden, where she invested time and effort to create a haven of serenity. However, above all else, Nancy cherished spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Their laughter and presence brought immeasurable happiness to her life.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Sherman "Pete" Buckler Jr and one sister, Margaret Sparks.
Nancy leaves behind a devoted husband, Leland Halcomb. She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Halcomb Hicks (David) of Richmond, Kentucky, and Kimberly Ginter (Kenneth) of Berea, Kentucky, seven grandchildren: Kristina Grove, Faith Grove, Victoria Grove, Briana Hicks, Jessi Ginter, Drew Hicks, and Kandis Lane (Dillian) and three great-grandchildren Aarlyn, Lily, and Kason, two brothers, Carl Buckler (Doris) of Frankfort and Thomas Buckler of Richmond.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM Sunday, September 3, 2023 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Pastor Jeff Lewis officiating.
Burial will follow at the Owingsville Cemetery.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Saturday.
Pallbearers include, Kenneth Ginter, David Hicks, Charlie Sparks, Kyle Halcomb, Larry Buckler and Carl Buckler Jr.
