Orville Denzil Luke

Orville Denzil Luke, 69, of Owingsville, Kentucky, passed away on January 12, 2024 at his home. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 16, 1954, to the late Otis and Mary Luke.

Orville was known for his humor, love of the outdoors, and passion for bluegrass music. He had a knack for making people laugh and was always the life of the party. His joyful spirit and witty jokes brightened many gatherings. He had a way of bringing people together and creating lasting memories. Being an avid hunter and fisherman, Orville embraced the great outdoors, spending time in nature, appreciating its serene landscapes and engaging in activities that brought him closer to it. Whether it was hunting game or casting his line into the water, he found peace and fulfillment in these pursuits.

In addition to his parents, Otis and Mary Luke, he is preceded in death by his son, Charles Luke, and his special friend/companion, Francis Player.

Survivors include his wife Joann Jischkowsky Luke of Owingsville, four sons, Jason Cobb (Laura) of Bruceton Mills, West Virginia, Orville Luke Jr. (Lois) of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Paul Cobb of Frenchburg, Kentucky, and step-son Michael Dukelow (Vanessa) of St. Pete, Florida, four daughters, Tabatha Luke of Culpepper, Virginia, Jenny Luke of Ohio, and step-daughters Marina Klinger of Lexington, Kentucky, and Marissa Ledbetter of Paducah, Kentucky, his many grandchildren, and his best friend Danny Houge of Lexington.

Orville Denzil Luke will be remembered as a hardworking roofer, a passionate gardener, a skilled outdoorsman, and a lover of bluegrass music. His warm smile, contagious laughter, and kind-hearted nature will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
