Phillip G. Hammack, 78, of East Fork, Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 at his home after an extended illness.
He was born in Hazel Green, Kentucky on May 28, 1943, to the late Elbert Hammack and Opal Phipps Hammack.
Phillip worked forty years for the Department of Transportation and served six years in the Kentucky National Guard where he held the rank of Staff Sargent. He was also a lifelong farmer and enjoyed keeping the farm going.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Danny C. Hammack and Darrell Hammack.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Donna Jean Hammack, two sons; Phillip Hammack Jr (Tammy) and Joseph Ryan Hammack (Stacy) and one daughter, Stephanie Whitt, five grandchildren; Ava Brooke Hammack, Ellie Jo Hammack, Daniel Hammack, Ciara Williams and Nichalos Williams, four great grandchildren; Kynlee Craver, Brantley Craver, Addy Craver and Kylee Berryman.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Monday in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Bro. Roy Stacy officiating.
Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be 5:00 - 8:00 PM Sunday.
Pallbearers include, Phillip G. Hammack Jr, Joseph R. Hammack, Greg Craver, Daniel Hammack, Tyler RIchards, Morgan Spencer, Arai Pooley and Nichalos Williams.
