Roger Wayne Otis, 82, of Salt Lick Kentucky passed away September 9, 2021 at Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Owingsville, Kentucky. He was born September 29, 1938 in Sharpsburg, Kentucky and married to Janice Razor Otis on February 3, 1962. He was preceded in death by his only son, Jeff “Bear” Otis and his only grandson, Jeffrey Lee Otis.
Wayne was a well known business owner of the “Otis Pool Room” for 30 years, famous for his good ole' chili-dogs. Prior to owning his own business he was employed at Hobart's Manufacturing in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his lovely wife, Janice, daughter-in-law Glenda, two great-grand children, Addi and Alex, and their mother Lauren Otis. Also surviving is his sister Linda Barber, sister-in-law Freda Purvis, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harrison and Ruby Everman Otis, two brothers, Jimmy Otis and Tippy Otis, two sisters, Margie Otis and Sheila Groves.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, September 12, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Brother Lowell Rice officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hedricks Cemetery in Salt Lick.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is after 12 Noon Sunday.
Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by American Legion Post No. 22.
Pall bearers will be Tony Barber, David Barber, Brent Barber, William Salazar, Shannon Caudill, David Shrout, Bub Carpenter and Keith Taylor.
Honorary pall bearers Bob Razor, Jim Razor, Tom Hogge, Leslie Smith, and Donnie Razor.
