Roy McCarty Jr.

Roy James McCarty Jr. 52, of Bethel, Kentucky passed away Saturday morning, August 14, 2021 at his home.

He was born on June 4, 1969 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. The son of Roy James McCarty and Wilma Bowles McCarty of Bethel.

James was a retired carpenter who enjoyed fishing, mowing yards, and raising chickens.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria Gibson McCarty who passed away in 2010.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his son, Jeremiah McCarty and his daughter, Danyale McCarty, one brother, Timothy McCarty (Erica) and one sister, Shirley Watkins Reffitt, special friend, Melissa Sexton all of Sharpsburg, three nieces and three nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 17, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Roy Stacy officiating.

Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery in Bethel.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is 11 AM - 1 PM Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Tony Parker, Dustin Parker, Byron Bussell, Steven McCarty, Ricky Wayne Bussell, Sam Burgess, Jimmy Joe Burgess, Timmy McCarty and Jordan McCarty.
